Henrik Söderström is an independent media-art researcher and freelance editor based in Stockholm. Over the past decade, he has documented Nordic and European digital art movements through essays, interviews and archival work, contributing to publications including Neural and Rhizome. electrohype.org is his ongoing archival project: a long-form record of electronic and new media art from the year 2000 onward, with a focus on Nordic and European scenes too often overlooked by institutional archives.
Editorial Focus
The site runs five silos: Archive (historical record, 2000–present), Artists (profiles and interviews), Tools (software reviews — what artists actually ship with), Lost Works (preservation of dead platforms and obsolete net art), and Scenes (regional scene reports beyond the capitals).
Editorial Standards
Every post is a primary piece of work — no syndication, no generative fill. Facts are verified against primary sources; interviews are conducted by the editor. Translations between English and Swedish are done by hand, not machine. Where a Swedish version exists, it is a proper rewrite, not a direct translation.
